    fanuc 18i ai nano

i run a johnford DMC-2100h in a mold and die shop it has a funuc 18imb . when ever i run a program that has 3 axis contours with the AI-NANO turned off it runs just fine , but when it is turned on i get an illegal plane select alarm. It might happen within minutes of starting the program ,or it might happen 5 hours after i start it, which is very frustrating. The reason i can't understand the problem is that the only thing different between the 2 programs is the G05 P10000 line at the beginning and the G05 P0 at the end. i am sure it has somthing to do with the G17 G18 and the G19 lines in there but i cant figure why why it is only a problem when the AI-NANO is activated.

    Thanks for you time

Sounds like you're changing planes (or setting a plane anyway) with G5 on.... No can do.

As for "when" the machine bombs out.... This is a problem with G5 operation. Some alarms don't happen to you're way into the program and the whole while, the problem was at the beginning of the cut.....
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....

Yes.... you should be able to do that. There are several rules when running G5 or G5.1 modes. That's one example. Another would be like you can't change work offsets while in G5 mode.....
