    why not try low cost closed loop AC servo with high resolution absolute
    encoder, from www.dmm-tech.com

    I'm with pminmo on this one. It sounds like you need to cinch down the coupler screws really tight, especially if they are Delrin or other type of plastic. Plastic will cold flow under a lot of pressure from the screws. It may take a while, but it will eventually happen.
