Question How do I compare a slaved motor?

My X axis has two motors X and A (slaved).

It seems that the A side is lagging a miniscule amount causing the machine to vibrate.

Is there a way to test how much it is lagging by?

    Thanks,

    Matt

Have you tried "swapping"the wires from the controllers to the motors? If it does it -- opposite(ly) maybe a set up problem -- If still the same (A side) I'd guess the motor.
That won't get you to testing the Lag - but will confirm that it is a motor problem and not a steup in the software.
(Also, it might point to a physical binding on the "Ä" side.)
Hope that gets you a start - surely others will have a good idea or 2 as well.
    Cheers - Jim
Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.

    ^^This

My slaved axis prob done close to the same thing. One was slower to take off than the other. Ended up being a bad soilder joint in the motor plug and not anything with the software.
