Are you planning more support for the cutting surface in the form of a table of some sort? I'd be inclined to think there might be some sag in there particularly where the x screws are.

Is that a jig bore in the background, a drill press with a knee or a small vertical mill?

Yeah i was considering that my self. I am going to wait untill i get the x drives completely done to make sure i get the table braces in the right spot.

Hopfully if dad can get it from work for a decent price. i am going to be using a 3/4" micarta fr4 laminate for the table top. Should really make a difference in rigidity and help aginst sag as well.

Well i call it a small vertical mill. But i dont know what a jig bore is.
It has a made in belgium label and a G with a M in side it for a logo.

a jig bore is basically like a drill press with an x-y table and on steroids (built very solidly).

Doing some more work soon. Got about 20ft of ingus cable carrier chain to put on in place of the foam tube. Then its time to make it look pretty.

A vid of it doing some simple pocketing as I was working on calibration.
