I can't seem to get an stl file with text to open in MeshCAM.

In Blender, I Add>Text, then extrude it. Export as ASCII STL and try to open it in MeshCAM. The error states, "Parse error"

I tried this with the default cube created in Blender and it worked.

You'll need to send the .stl to Robert. Either email it to him, or post the .stl on the MeshCAM Forum.

I think this has more to do with Blender than with MeshCAM, like I said MeshCAM opened another exported STL just fine.

Here's two attachments. I'm assuming it won't open the second as it's a binary stl. The first is ascii.

ggrrr they won't upload. Ok, I'll spend a little more time on this then email them to you tomorrow if I can't get it working.

Ok, it definitely has to do with the way blender creates text.

I imported an obj into blender and exported as binary stl and as ascii stl and meshcam opened both files just fine.
