    Question Fanuc vs. Fadal

Hey guys. Our shop is interested into buying a new used VMC. We found one that falls in our price range but it has a Fadal control on it. Everything we have used in our shop to this point has been run with a Fanuc Control. Can someone tell me the differences I can expect to see between these 2 controls. Is it an easy transition or will I essentially have to "relearn" programming. Any info would be great.

Should be easy, Fadal format 2 is more or less Fanuc emulation.
I don't think format 1 is a whole lot different either.

Not to much difference at all, really. I use the same Fanuc postprocessor for Fanuc (obviously), FADAL, and HAAS. A few changes, like E1=G54, Dump the 4th Axis null, & my older FADAL likes its R's to be R0's. My newer FADALS dont mind it either way. That is really it. Piece of cake.

The subprogram structure can be quite different, but who uses those.

We have both, Fadal and Fanuc. Fadal fomat 2 is pretty much the same as fanuc. Format 1 is Yasnac.
