Hi:
Anybody have a source for connectors for the PowerMax II stepper motors.
As I recall there was a member on the 'zone that was selling them. "Jeff" or something like that comes to mind. Try a want ad on the auction site? Its been a bit but there have been some on eBay as well - Hope that helps -- I'll look through my "stuff" and see if I can get closer....
 Jim
Ok a quick search and I got this for you : Its Jason ...

Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
I got mine from Digi Key

That answers the connector source - and that was your question. But assembly for some requires an extra investment I'd rather spend on someone doing the work! $Kaching$
But, if you are interested in the cables use the member look-up and follow thru to his eBay store. Most recent sale was April 2007. You can message him there. (you probably knew this already)
I'm not trying to be a bit of a "Junior Dick" aka GumShoe -- I'll need some too!
Sorry haven't emailed via eBay yet. Keep me posted and I you.

I believe I got mine from Mouser Electronics, I think they were around a dollar each, maybe less.

Bryan,
The mouser part number is 571-6438135. They are $.23 each at quantity 1 and $.21 each at qty 10.
I made the insertion tool from an small screwdriver. I have attached a picture of the tool that I made and a pdf that gives the specifications for the official tool.

Gerry:
Links don't work. Do you have the part number for the cover?
I got the number from the .pdf I linked to earlier in the thread, from the Xylotex site. It's at the end of the Powermax II section. Use the AMP number and it will come up at digikey.

I used my manual mill. I don't see why you couldn't use a dremel tool. I tried several times with other tools to do the insertions before I built the tool. Some people have succeeded but I found the tool to be the easiest thing for me. Since I built it I have used it a lot on other MTA-100 connectors.
