    Fanuc OT G83 etc

    Hi
I have been trying to work this out, looked through the manuals (which actually show examples but dont work), but have found nothing to work.....

Is it possible to enable any of the G83 onwards functions.

I believe this to be a peck drilling cycle with the retract to the original start position and rapid back down the hole.

All I want to do is drill, although currently do use manual programming i.e. G01...G00...etc, which can become tedious. I know the OT doesn't allow macro without making some heavy purchase,or maybe this is just a parameter, everything seems to be a parameter in Fanuc , so basically would just like to enable G83, if at all possible.

    thanks for any help......

I'm not sure what you mean by very first option?

Are you talking about the settings screen which also lets you set other options such as MM/INCH etc...

    Or parameters screen....

    sorry for being ignorant...

Also I forgot to ask, is this for changing op macros or the G83 codes???

    ......

Ok I need to explain I think...

Lakeside, the G83 coding you have supplied works on a mill, am I right, or maybe newer lathes, but how do you enable it on a Fanuc OT Lathe..... which would not use the Y???

Nope definately doesn't work. G83 comes up with an error of invalid G code. Like it doesnt exist.

I'm trying to understand what hangslot meant, and to what he was relating to???

Need to mess around I guess
