    Tektronix 475, opinions?

I am thinking about buying a Tektronix 475 oscilloscope for a school project, and for general use. I always welcome new toys at my house . I was wondering what people thought of this scope. Does anybody know what the max peak to peak voltage input is by chance?

The 475 is a workhorse and is a 200Mhz scope with dual channels, delayed sweep. With the 10X probe I think the max verticaL SCALE IS 50 v/DIV. May be more. I just decommissioned a 485 (350mhz model) in favor of a newer (to me) 200 Mhz Tektronix Digital Storage scope. I've used this 485 for 10 years and It was older than that when I got it! I think the 465, 475 and 485 scopes were some of the best they ever made. Mine still has a crisp bright trace and the controls all work and aren't noisy. If you have a chance to try it out before buying turn it one and look at both channels. There is a calibrator (square wave) output on the front. The traces should be nice and clean with plenty of brightness. With the probe on the calibrator and a steady square wave on the tube (locked with the trigger so it's rock steady) tap on the top of the scope. If the verticle jumps all around then walk away from it.
