    Fanuc 6M

    Hi all;
We have a Amada punching with Fanuc 6M controller. We had city power
failure and after it when we turned the machine ON,we got the error 101
which means deleting the memory and we did it.
After this we can not run any program on the machine. We have
    following error all the times:
    078 program
We had 2 programs numbers 9004 and 9014 on the machine memory since
we bought it but after power failure, these 2 programs(which I think are
Macro programs)are deleted either. When I want to send these 2 programs
to the machine I get the following error message:
170 : The program having the program numbers 9000-9899 are going to
    be edited.
Unfortunately we do not have the maintenance manual.
    Please help.
1-Is our problem deleting the macro program?
2-How can we send the macro prgrams? What are the commands and
    instructions?

    Best regards
    SBP

Thanks swagman, after doing this we again have the same problem.
The input data is OK.As I told the powe faliure caused this problem.
I think there should be some programs which their number should start
    from 9000 and upward.We have 2 programs with numbers 9004 and 9014
among the back up data when the machine was Ok,but now I do not
know how to send this programs to mchine again. It seems that we should
use special commands and instructions(must be written in maitenace manual
but we do not have it).Can you help me more?
    Thank you in advance

There is a parameter in the 6M-B control that protects the programs between 9000 and 9999. If your machine builder used macros (and Amada did), then they probably set this parameter to "1" so that no one could accidentally erase or edit the macros. Your method of clearing the memory erased them anyway, and now you can't re-enter them because the parameter is set.

Go to parameter 318, bit 7 (the bit on the far left), and set it to "0". Then enter your macro programs. Once the macros are in, set this bit back to a "1" again to protect them.

To change a parameter on the system 6, put the control into MDI mode, then go inside the control and throw the toggle switch on the main circuit board marked "Parameter Write/Enable". This will give you an alarm 100 (this is normal). Press the PARAM key, page up to parameter 318, press the letter "P" key, then key in all 8 digits (changing only bit #7 to "0") then press INPUT. Turn off the Parameter Write/Enable switch and reset the alarm 100.
