Tormach pcnc1100 new user need help

Hi I am 20 years old and recently bought a tormach 1100, this is my first machine and literally have no experience except in 3d printing. I was wondering if there is any online training to be able to learn how to properly use one of these machines without causing damage?

NYCCNC.com is where I would start.

    As for YouTube:
    For Fusion 360 training - https://www.youtube.com/user/cadcamstuff
    Tormach training - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe0...gdPTTjsxjvyHPg

I agree with smokediver576. I would also add that John's new website is an easier way to find his videos and info: https://www.nyccnc.com/ There's also a forum for paid membership where you can ask anything and get a quick response. John also has hands on training courses. This might not be in your budget, but I hear they are good and the training is on Tormach machines which is a plus: https://www.nyccnc.com/events/

You'll find plenty of help here and over on the Facebook Tormach Operators group.

You could always take a vo-tech course. You would have access to free cad- cam software.

The 3.5 day Tormach Class is excellent. You should really consider it.

Re: Tormach pcnc1100 new user need help

Welcome aboard. If you don't already know gcode, take the time to learn it even if you are using a cad/cam program. It's an easy way to crank out a quick-n-dirty in 2 1/2 d. If you aren't already using a cad/cam program, Fusion 360 is fairly popular and it's either free or cheap for students and hobbyists. Doing CNC on a mill is a lot like on a 3d printer but no slicer or print program is used though the output from a cam program will require a post processor. Also, tons of friendly help is available on this forum.
