If I understand what you want to do, maybe look at G52 for temporary offset.

The desire is to be able to zero a new tool when you install it during a tool change.

Mach3 always allows you to move the table around so you can set a new tool z height during a tool change in the middle of a procedure. Pathpilot doesn't.

EDIT: never mind. That has nothing to do with "blending surfaces".

I've done changes on models and molds where I needed to blend to the surface without violating the surface. Having the ability to jog the machine while the cutter pass is running makes this process easier.

That was a nice feature in Mach. There is a workaround I use ( actually have used a lot ):
1) Stop the program
2) Change or install a new tool enter the offset in the tool table - I use a separate height gauge, not a tool setter, but either would be ok.
3) reload the program, use 'FIND G30' to get the G30 just before the tool call for the 'changed' tool.
4) 'Set Start Line' and off you go.

You have to repeat some machining but usually won't scrap the part and you're not starting all over.
Would be nice if you could 'Set Start Line' at a safe Z from where you stopped and have coolant state and spindle state resume where you left off. With the above scenario you go back to the last G30 to get coolant and spindle working properly.

Lol... I thought I was the only one that had the shutdown screen text issue. That drove me nuts on day one and it got fixed on day 2. Ill dig it back up on how to change it if anybody else really cares lol.

I got my Pathpilot in the mail with an update disk a few days ago. I updated it and this screen was fixed to a total different one with the Tormach logo and the message separate. The must have read this thread.

That is the version I have. The date on the back of my controler box is 02/01/17 so its brand new. May have something to do with it, that it's a newer install.

Not impossible, but I would doubt they would change this on a standard .tgp/gpg update. Like eltejano said, itll probably only show up on newer installs.

We need a tool table import/export function using a something like a comma delimited file format. I realize we can backup/restore a tool table but that format is not really usable by external applications.

It would be awesome to have the ability to link the tool table to our CAM program.

Until then, you can use https://konklone.io/json/ to convert JSON to a CSV. I just tried it and it works very well.

Would be nice to be able to customize the UI, just like different colors and maybe even themes, fonts. I know it makes no difference and it is useless but I like changing things up sometimes.
