No, not a specialist. I worked in the auto industry as an Electrician and also did some engineering work in that capacity, so I worked on many different type of machines starting out in a 5 million sq. ft. facility. I probably have 20+ years Fanuc experience with the most intense exposure being last 10 years preceding retirement in 2007. We built a new 300K sq ft factory from the ground up and had about 200 Fanuc CNC's there. My early years were spent trying to troubleshoot these problems without any training whatsoever. The silver lining was that when we finally got the training, we had many burning questions about the controls. I spent 2 weeks a couple times at GE Fanuc in Southfield, Michigan, and another week in Charlottesville, Virginia, and a lot of other classes at our own facility. So it was mainly Fanuc, I think I worked on Siemens once or twice but don't know much about that control, Mazak, some others. I'm heavier on the electrical and the ladder side of the control, have written logic for that, but lighter on the g-code programming. You will find some excellent techs on this site, there are many that are very, very good. Thank you for your interest.
