    Getting a 1986 QT8 T2 up and running

Hi, I hope you can help.
I have just purchased a QT8 that wasn't functioning. When the NC is turned on all I would get are zero's and a blank screen.

I replaced all 3 batteries (they were dead flat) and cleared the PE1 with the dipswitch 2 reinitialise. On the first day no change happened so I left it for the night and on starting it the next morning the NC came to life with MC and NC alarm lit but no display.

Throughout the day trying to restart it to see if it would come good and by the end of the day the display came on but only showing a spindle drive error (this is a problem I can tackle once I get the NC working)

Today when I turned it on initially there were only zeros again and after about 5 min the NC came to life but no display again.

I pulled the NC power supply and all the cards one by one a well as the cables checking for corrosion or any other type of weirdness and trying it again each time but no luck just all zeros and no display.

Can you suggest anything for me to try?

The times where the NC fired up was completely random and I can't put it down to anything I did that made it come good.

    Thanks,
    Grant.

Just to follow up, I got this lathe running. I repaired the FX784-9 board and also had to replace a servo and spindle drive.

There was a corroded leg on the eprom nearest the backup battery, I replaced the leg with a strand of wire and also the tantalum capacitors needed replacing.
