    see pics

the machine is almost brand new, so no worn parts
it makes no difference by changing speed etc
what I can say is that the larger the cut the the cleaner it is but still there
it has done this from new
    at a loss help please

Form the picture it looks like as if the original source of the drawing was a bitmap type and got vectorized but with a much too low resolution.
It could even be a bad vector to vector format converter or wrong settings of such that could cause this.

    best regards,

Or possibly the Y beam is misaligned by having the two pulleys at slightly different clock angles and the belt is catching on the leading or trailing edges of the pulley teeth.

Check your gas pressure. I think it could be to high.

    Re: jagged edges on cuts

Hey you guys thanks for the replies
sorry for my late reply have been away for a few days
I was expecting to be told to change stepper motors etc, but it was a simple case of resolution
I had not even considered it, for years now I have made svg patterns in Inkscape printed them out and used them for scroll saw work, so res was never a problem
when we got the laser we just adopted the method of opening the svg in Gimp and saving as a Jpg, ok for engraving but not cutting of course.
I have now started to export the bitmap straight from Inkscape and save at high res as a png and problem solved
    thanks again guys

    Hi Dave,

What is your laser power tube? 80W? or 100W? or 130W? And Which model of your laser machine? Check the cutting sample, seems like speed was a bit fast.
