Some context: I am just a hobbyist and I can't justify spending much on software. So I like this free approach. I've had decent results with creating G Code with a plug in to Inkscape. I started doing text but I've also used it to convert other drawings (both DXF and vector). There is a lot of info on-line.
The English forum for main G Code plug in site is ???????? ?????? - English forum ? ?????? ? ??? ?? ?????? cnc-club.ru The developer is a Russian named Nick. Sometimes the language barrier pops up.
The download is at the main site or you can download it from https://github.com/cnc-club/gcodetools
One interesting video by a newbie is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N12_1nCTuWM I think he's using a different version than I am but it's similar.
Try this, it's Free.
NCPlot - Stick Font
I have used a program called OutlineArt. It did a decent job and is not expensive. TTF to DXF converter,OutlineART transforms TTF text and symbols to DXF polyline
Hi,
Try a small free program called DeskEngrave. I use it extensively and it still works on Windows 7 up.
