    Soundproofing a tabletop CNC router

    Hi all,

I live in a basement apartment in a house and want to get a CNC router to mill sheet plastic (ABS, acrylic, etc.) up to 1/4 inch thick and I am concerned about the noise problem.

The quietest spindle I found was this:
Inventables Blog: The Quiet Cut Spindles Have Arrived!
Is there a quieter spindle? This is not for metal or wood, just plastic.

Are there any plans around for an soundproof enclosure?
The CNC router I am planning on purchasing is a table-top unit and I expect the max size of the enclosure will be about 4ft x 5ft x 4ft
The Shapeoko spindle seems to emit a very high frequency without load. I don't know what it will sound on ABS sheet.

    Thanks.

Google noise-proofing solutions for shop vacs. There's some nice builds out there using MDF.

Yes I found a video of that working and it seems to be very effective. That seems like the way to go.
I want to add a vacuum system to collect chips so I think maybe two enclosure - one for the router and one for the vacuum system.

One question, would you run your router in an apartment in that current enclosure?
