    Fanuc 3t ZRN G50 Problem

    Hi all I have a Victor CNC lathe after doing a ZRN and inputting a G50 X 184.336 & G50 Z 38.08 the X 0.0 cut is reading -4.19 approx the X tool offset is - 0.243. or put another way X is 4.19 Dia to large .
    I have used the G50 offset several times before with no problems and tool has not been moved
    Any Help would Appreciated

    old machines can sometimes have issues with servo positioning/zero returning etc. if the machine is otherwise working fine just re-set the G50s. monitor the G50 position and if it moves again then the machine will need to be checked by someone who knows more.
    we had a machine that would lose 6mm (the pitch of the ball screw) but only when the machine was turned off and even the Fanuc repair guy couldn't figure it out.... so we just left it on.

    Hi fordav11 thanks for the reply, I found the problem to be poor switch and ramp design which allowed chips to lodge in the cover and on the ramp
