    400 lbs cnc gantry for nema34 6 num

    can i use my nema 34 6num 5 amper for my gantry 400 lbs? (200 kg.) --- my x is 260cm ...i have 1 central ballscrew 25mm passo 5.... a use hiwin 20mm.... sorry formy english :-)=.....thank you soo muchAttachment 247834Attachment 247834.... same images of my project

    Yes, but it may not be very fast with 5mm pitch screws.

    Why is the gantry so tall?

    thank you very much for the reply ... I thought it was too heavy for my NEMA34 6num 5Amp ...... the bridge is high because I want to make a cnc 5-axis ... I know the difficulties ... but I'll try ... and I'm trying various solutions ...

    I do not care that it is a bit slow .... I would like to do even small jobs .... but I like the idea of ​​having a large area to do great things ... lthough if it takes me a long time to me ... like sculpture and bas relief not use the machine for professional cutting

    You should think about this carefully. You have to see if the speed that it will deliver is acceptable. If speed isn't an issue at all, then any motor can be geared down enough to move any size of gantry. But life is short, the next project is waiting, and your cutters should move through the material at a certain minimum speed or else they will wear prematurely.
    Put another way : you are building a strong steel frame for rigidity, but if the speed is slow, the forces go down, so you might as well build a lighter machine.
