HI, is it possible in sprutcam to use a drilled hole as the starting point for a pocketing operation?
I was wondering this too. I know you can drag the lead-in around, but I haven't gotten around to trying to drag it all the way into a drilled hole. Not sure the path would recalculate sufficiently. I'll try that sooner or later, I'm not working on anything suitable at the moment.
Hi Scott and Spoog,
I use Roughing Waterline and pick the bottom of the pocket under the Job Assignments Tab and click on Pocket.
Then click on Holes Tab in the same icon row that Job Assignments is in and click on an inside surface of the hole and click on center over in the Holes tab.
Then go ahead and finish the rest of the operation settings.
I attached a SC7 project file and hopefully the screen cap will help too.

I should add that you can do the same (assign a hole) in a pocketing op as well.
Currently using SC7 Build 1.6 Rev. 64105
I thought this may be helpful to some people too.
Say you don't have a drilled hole in your model to start your tool path but you want to start your tool path in a specific location in the pocket.
You can follow the same steps as I described above but instead of clicking on "Center" click on "Create" and using X,Y coordinates to place a "hole" where you want the tool path to start.

i was learning IT TOO, but till now no answers, maybe you can try to contact the suppliers from China , they may help you some tech supprt,
i find a guy here China professional manufacturer of laser machine and cnc router. , hope can do help to you , good luck.
Bit of a delayed response, but I've come back to this now.
Gerry, thanks for the explanation and example, I see how it works now.
I'm slightly surprised the operation doesn't seem to interact particularly with a previous drill op and/or create it's own drill operation, but it doesn't really matter in the end.
