I am finishing out everything on a bridgeport cnc and have a new windows 8 system and i use bobcad v25. with mach 3 on a 64 bit system i have figured out that i will need smoothstepper. having never done this before. i have my bob and gecko drives ect. for smoothstepper to run mach 3 with win. 8 what all will i need- a smoothstepper usb control and cables? what am I missing. thanks for your help-Andy

There are 2 different types of Smoothstepper, USB and Ethernet. The Ethernet version is newer and much less susceptible to interference. You'd probably be doing yourself a favor to go that route, instead of USB.

In either case, you'll just need the Smoothstepper, an appropriate cable, and a 5v power supply of some sort for the Smoothstepper. A little "wall wart" power supply will do fine. A number of places carry the Smoothstepper, but Jeff Birt, at Soigeneris, has about the best collection of parts and more importantly, documentation.
