I think the issue is the USB to serial adapter. The problems with these low end, cheap $25 units don't have the proper drivers and support for the CNC equipment. They install, Win7 finds them, picks a driver and assumes things are fine. Half the time it is an old driver, and the mfg has some new driver and still does not work with this type of OLD serial CNC port! It frustrating, yet alone time consuming to chase this nightmare.
Invest in something that is $50 or more, it has serial lights on it and this way when you plug it in, there is a TD (TX) at the end showing its ready to send. It should work every time not some of the times and when you plug it back in, not show up as another comm port # that you have to tweak the software.
Last, I think he said Db9 at the end of the adapter, and then DB9 to DB25 adapter, so now we are going from DB25 to DB25. I could be wrong??
Call me and I am happy to figure this out...Haas are one of simple controls to configure and if you dont want to mess with the serial ports, just add the USB option.
