Red face build up in small holes after heat treat

When my parts come back from heat treat the small holes are always packed with gunk i believe is from the heat treat solution. Is the a good solvent for this . Its a bear to get out and there is alot of holes. The heat treat company told us to send the parts to them with the screws in the holes but they seizesd up . Not a good idea. curious if anyone else delt with this problem?

    heat treat

What kind of steel and heat treat process are you using? maybe try screws of different material than part is made of to keep them from seizing together.

Most heat treat salts are water soluble. Hot or even boiling water will soften them for easy removal.
