Looks like a super deal- those machines with the quadra lift assembly are going for 2500.00 without the CNC. If you could get all the cnc and tooling for that price it would be a steal. Too bad he's so far away from me and requires local pickup. The Ah Ha CNC system is OK, but not as good as the Shoptask which use Gecko drives and Mach 3 software, but if you get it free its a deal.
There was another thread a while back from a guy in Florida who got an even older unit with a home made servo system on it and was asking for advice. I see on You Tube he has it running and making parts.
I have the 2009 Patriot VFD which I picked up in Vegas a couple years ago. Its been a solid unit with few issues. Recently visited them again while they were prepping a container of new machines for shipment. I really like the new design with the X axis ball screw down the center of the bed. This was my biggest adjustment issue on the old style with the ball screw on the front of the bed, which wanted to rock the table when reversing directions. JT told me he had a fully equipped Bridgemill model coming in on trade for one of the new units. He says it has CNC, ballscrews and DRO fitted- the original owner was using it to make parts and decided to upgrade to the new model because of the longer bed and 2HP VFD motors.
Anybody have a Patriot model for sale?
