Any one done any thread milling yet!
I thread mill every day and have had tremedous success. No more broken taps to burn out and complete size control.
Witch type of tool are you useing? Thare are 3 to choos from, as far as I know.
I use solid carbide for all tapped holes smaller than 1/2.I either buy Carmex or threadmillusa. For larger holes I use Vardex or Stellram. If you need help programming their websites usually offer an excel spredsheet that you enter your parameters and outputs Gcode that you can cut and paste into your cnc program.
Are you using straight or spiral flute thread mills?
I have never done it except with a single point tool, and I am going to do some pipe threads.

I ues straight fluted.I have never milled a NPT thread but I don't see any problems.
If your budget is limited, you should go for one-flute thread mill, very versatile but long to cut.
I tried doing some 3/4 and 1/2 NPT with no problems at all, very satisfied. Hand tapping is for suckers!
I used an Advent thread mill with a single flute indexable carbide insert, material was 316 stainless.
I recommend giving it a try, I used the software from the Advent and it work perfectly.
