I'm not sure exactly what you're asking but you should be able to assign a property value at the part level just like you can assign a material, hardness, etc...That "property" could be the part cost. Then depending how you format your BOM, it should be there.

thanks much, here is one more question that has been daunting me.

how to get a detail view on a seperate sheet.

    is there a way?

Add the model view that the detail view is derived from onto a new sheet, well not onto, off the side of the paperspace on a new sheet.
Pull your detail view from it and position it on the paperspace.

    Right or wrong it works.
If there are other methods, someone please let me know as well.

Not necessarily the only way - just the only way I know (and I never stop learning)

Easier than that! If you have two pages, page 1 has the base view w/ the detail ring on it and you want that detail to be on page two. All you do is make the detail view on pg1 just like normal then go to the feature tree and drag it to the second sheet and voila! The one thing that doesn't happen automatically is sheet references as to where that view 'went' so you have to put those in manually. Maybe someday that will be done.. I've got several enhancement requests in to do this as it'd save me hours and hour per job.
