I think Cambam is only CAD/CAM software. You can draw a part and create the gCode but you'll need controller software to actually run the code on your machine. Lost of people use Mach3 for controller.

We have a Bridgeport Series 2 MDI with heidenhain tnc 145. I am aware people have linked cambam with tnc 151 i just dont have a clue where to start!
I've not used CamBam, but generally you tell your CAM software to use a postprocessor to convert the machining operations you create into G-Code commands that the machine controller would understand. CamBam is supposed to have very good tech support, so you might try contacting them and see what they suggest.

thanks mike i will give them a ring!
You need to load the Heidenhain server software on your PC and then CamBam interacts with that and controls the machine.
good info, including downloads, on the Cambam forum: Heidenhain TNC151 Conversational
