    Mach Turn and Macros

Been using Mach Mill for many years and now building a CNC lathe. I intend on using the Novakon 4 position tool indexer and they provide a Macro to run the turret. Need help understanding how and where the macro is used, in Mach or in the post processor, any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Pat

    Pretty straight forward.
The macro is placed in the Mach3 Turn Macro sub-directory.
Once installed it is simply a matter of calling it from your gcode similar to the mill.
    e.g.

    Mill
    M6 T1......Tool Change Tool # 1

    Lathe
T0101.....T01=Tool Post rotates to position 1. 01=Tool offset for tool 01
T0202.....T02=Tool Post rotates to position 2. 02=Tool offset for tool 02
    T0303
    T0404

T0000 Sometimes required to activate tool post. Usually only once.

You can always contact Novakom by email for further info.

    Thanks for reply

Thanks for the info, do you have one of the Novakon NL-150 Lathes? If so it looks like to me it is based on the 9 x 20 lathe, is it?
And if you do have on how do you like it?
    Thanks, Pat

I have the pre-production Novakon NL-150 lathe. Being the pre-production unit we had some expected issues. Fortunately, they were for the most part solved prior to full production. Overall I am quite pleased with it. The 4 post auto tool changer is undoubtedly my favorite feature.

As far as I know it is not based on the 9 x 20.

A further note on the tool change macro. As it was specifically written for the NL-150, I doubt it would work properly without the associated circuits.
