Has anyone used linuxcnc to run multicam machines?

I'm trying to figure out what software to use to control my new m series. I was wondering if anybody has used linuxcnc to control a multicam machine? All the multicam reps suggested software that is in the $4-6000 range and I am just a poor college student so linuxcnc is my next try.
