    Bridgeport VMC 760-16 ways

I see that the ways on the VMC 760-16 are bolted on. Would I have any problem with alignment after removing and regrinding them? thanks, Terry

Maybe the straps (keeper plates) are what you are referring to. Sometimes the glue or tucite would swell and I would have to shim these as the table became tight and the motor started to overheat.

I have the service manual open to the x axis page, the 2 ways are called saddle slides and are held in place by M12x30 shcs and are covered by 020 plug. When looking at the machine, you can see the plugs on the way surface on all 3 axis. I want to remove and regrind the saddle slides, and replace the turcite on the mating surfaces. Any advice would be appreciated.
