    FS -15MA with Alpha Drives

    Dear Sirs

Please advice if alarm 8 (seven segment display) High Current on Alpha Drives like
    A06B-6087-H130/
    A06B-6079-H105/
    A06B-6079-H106
can come due to faulty motor pulse coder

We have replaced drive, motor power cable, Motor meggering and insulation resistance quite ok and also we are sure that 110V AC to vertical axis brake motor is fine still just if we connect power cable to motor and switch On, we get alarm 8 on drive and we keep monitoring current on power cable thro Clamp meter and current drawn till alarm 8 appears is quite normal ie say 3A) hence we suspect either motor pulse coder or feedback cable, kindly comment on our doubt

    Warm Regards

Check phase to phase resistance on the motor with a multi-meter. It should be balanced. (0.3 ohms or so) U-V U-W V-W

Alarm 8 is due to internal fault with the internal PCB circuits. we may need to repair these drives in order to use them.
