    cutting oil vs waterbase coolant

Can I use cutting oil verses standard waterbase coolant in a CNC Vertical Machining Center.
I have heard some shops are going that way with much better tool life and faster feeds and speeds.
I am worried about it being hard on the machine.

Oil is much easier on the machine than coolant. I would recommend a mist collector if you do go that route however.
