    Question thread mill problem

I am trying to thread mill a 2.750-12 thread with a 3\4 diameter single point tool. I keep getting "diameter to large" warning on the CNC control. I have changed the plunge point lead in distance, etc. If I turn the tool comp off it works fine. But it sucks having to change the tool Diameter in FeatureCAM and repost to get the thread depth correct. I am using Ver 14.4.

    Help please,

    Thanks in advance,
    Dan :?:

You can use cutter comp. You have to have the diameter correct in the tool crib. and use 0 on the controller. If you need to adjust the finish diameter, you can go + or - .001 etc. The lead in lead out arcs are usually to small for the cutter comp. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with FC not giving itself enough room to turn on comp. Try using Windfan and tinkering around with the settings. prolly use a radius of .125 and a angle around 90 to 120. That way it has plenty of room to do what it needs to. Also double check your attributes to make sure you don't have conflicting settings. (Done that too!)
