    15i-M display problem

    Hi everyone !!

I was editing a program when out of the wild blue yonder a " Sub Menu " screen appeared on top of the program i was editing. I must have double keyed something on the keypad ? It will not let me select anthing and I cannot get it to dissapear, hit every key, reset, turned CNC off, still there but only in the ' text ' menu. Sorry to bother everyone with the little stuff, but this is a first for me. The CNC is a Monarch 175B VMC 3-axis Fanuc 15i-M control. Going after the Maintenance Manuals now. Thanks !!

Sorry about this one guys, this was the first time for me on a newer control and it's all in the operators manual. I thought it was one of those hidden keys that Fanuc doesn't tell anyone about. Thanks !! mty cnc

OK, here it is on page 499 in the operator's manual " 15i Model B " vol 2 of 2
    ( GZF-63784EN-1/01 ) june 2002 .

    SUB SCREENS

Select the page you want the sub screen to be on ie. pos, prog, check, ect...
it will only be visible on this page, it's not modal.

Press "shift" then "1" keys and the "sub screen menu" will appear.

Use the up and down "arrow" keys to select where you want to get sub menu info from.

    1: ACTUAL POSITION
    2: PROGRAM
    3: TOOL OFFSET
    4: WORK ZERO OFFSET
    5: CUSTOM MACRO
    6: MODAL
    7: DI SIGNAL
    8: DO SIGNAL
    9: SERVO ERROR
    10: ALARM
    11: OPERATOR MESSAGE

You can easily find your way around with the option keys just below the main screen
    to set it up.

    When finished press " select / end " .

At anytime you want to get rid of the sud screen press "shift" then " 8 " OR
    " shift " then " 1" then " close / screen "

For the guys doing Macro programming this could be helpful to see info related to those
" common variable's " . One draw-back is finding a place to position the sub screen so as not to interfere with other need to see data.

    Hope this helps

I have a 15 series that sometimes pops these menus up when the operator accidently hits a combo of keys and I never bothered to look up the fix.

I really only asked so that there was a solution posted in the thread. It helps when doing a search in the forums for a solution.

    Thanks,
    Stevo
