    How much is stock in surface countour toolpath?

    Hi I need help again,If I leave 0.015 " in stock ,How much ID surface will be 0.030 or 0.15 smaller then original size of surface?Thank You.

    On an I.D. consider the stock value to be a radius.
    Therefore, you would have APPROXIMATELY .030 on the I.D.

    stock to leave

    Im using Mastercam V9 so when I type in box stock to leave on surface contor tool path ,0.015 im not sure is this is on radius or dia??? consider to be radius is it a radius or dia is my Question,can this setting be change form dia to rad or is always radius?

    What ODave is saying is that it will leave .015 on the wall all around the inside of part. So .015 at 0 degrees and .015 at 180 degrees equals .030 stock remaining. Look at the attached example for further clarification.

    It is ALWAYS stock per side.
    On and O.D. and I.D. it would leave .030 TOTAL stock, .015 per side.
    You can consider it as a radius value.
    If you want to leave .015 total make the stock value .0075
    The stock value would leave the same amount per side no matter which toolpath you are using.
