    "V" Groove on Lathe

    Hi all
I had to machine a part on the lathe that had an V groove (.380" wide @90deg.) on OD. I could not make it in MCX, so I had to program it by hand.
How would you guys machine this groove,? Should I use turn feature or grooving? I tried with grooving, but I did not like the way was machining...
    Thank you.

What is it you didn't like and how did you do it. do you still have the file with your operation. was it the rough or finish you did not like.?
(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

In the roughing operation, the tool cuts more material on one side than the other(there is more material left on left side of the groove), although I specify i the roughing parameters to live .005" in X and .005" in Z for the finish op. In the finish operation, the tool has to cut a big chunk of metal on one side. Not to mention that I have to machine stainless steel...
    Thank you
