    How to get this finish

How do you go about getting this finish on the face of this putter?

A fly cutter. One cutting tool, maybe two with a very fast travers. Pretty simple really. I've seen it plenty of times with an improperly applied rapid..... :rainfro:

Make yourself a 'flycutter' using a threading insert mounted to cut on the end of the toolshank not on the side.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

It also appears that the mills head was slightly out of tram by the runout fading at the edges verses deeper toward the middle. That may also indicate that the pattern was put in there with two operations, as in flipping the part around to get the crosshatch or that the face is not quite as flat as it looks.

I wouldn't expect a putter to have an arched face, but I'd be the first to admit I know nothing about pasture pool tools.
