    Hardinge ST-20

Picked up a Hardinge ST-20 (swiss) lathe.
    Fanuc OTC Control.
    1994 Model year.

Machine is in a NOT READY state.
Can not get it out of E-stop.
    Control powers up.
    Parameters & Programs present.
    Bats are good.

Just can't get power to Axis.
    Barfeed is not hooked up.
Anyone know how to disable barfeed option via parameters?

Just want to get the machine on-line to see what I have.

    Regards,

    JT

You have air and all hooked up? If not you will not be able to clear alarms.

    Mike,

Yes. Everything is hooked up. This is my 6th Hardinge CNC. First swiss though. And first Fanuc OT Series control. (slow)

I know how hardinge does things on these systems. But this OTC control is a bit different. I have a host of alarms. Non-control related (i.e. Drives & such)

Low main air. (I have 80 PSI)
Door guard switch (cycled and safety switches on hatches checked)
Lube system fail (no power going to lube tank b/c e-stop condition)
Lube system power down 5 minutes (hardinge safety to protect Mach.)
Bar feeder signal ( it's looking for the bar feed that does not yet exist)

I am totaly unable to clear even one of these alarms.

I believe there might be something wrong with the PMC board that controls all these functions.
Anyone know which board this is?

Anyone actually own and operate one of these ST-15/20/25 machines?

    Thanks,

    JT

Can you check if your I,O board is plugged in properly?
Found that sometimes when moving a machine , boards do come loose.
Also , did the 1 st owner have a bar feeder on machine?
If yes , could be that there was an e/stop button and is now opened .
