Hi folks,

I need to able to get vector lines from an image like this below, but I dont want closed vectors, but open vectors so I be able to create a single toolpath along each line,

What would you suggest? I need make good few of them so would prefer some automatic way. I tried Vector Magic but it creates closed vectors, wichich is not good for me.

Hi,

if you want the centerline of this fairly complex shapes tracing software will usually not be able to do it.
But "v-carving" or "voronoi" programs like f-engrave will basically do what you want - except they usually output cnc programs instead of drawing files so you'll most likely need an additional conversion step.

There is no raster to vector software that will do this. You will have have to import the bitmap and draw vectors in manually.

Maybe you could engrave it?

Did you get it figured out? I work with Corel Draw a good bit doing vector work.
