    connecting 2 axis to one

I've just built a machine and the drag on the Y axis is too strong for the motor, can I fit a second motor so each side is driven independently, and have them both powered from the same pins I am using a cheap chinese break out board and separate driver boards so they only take a signal from the breakout board, the drive volts come from the power supply via the driver units?

Steppers its possible with separate drives, if servo's you need a control capable of master/slave gearing.
