    G54 setting

Hi, we have old mori-seiki cnc lathe which came with a tool arm when bought second hand which has never been used or put on the machine. I tried the putting the tool arm in and it seems to have altered the g54 x0 position by about 330mm from chuck centre line.
Can anyone please help me and tell me how to adjust the g54 x position back to chuck centre line?

    Many thanks

    Craig

The G54 X position is usually 0. Your X tool offset on the geometry page will set up the correct X values for each tool. You don't need to offset X with G54. To change it put the cursor on G54 X and type 0 then press INPUT

The tool setting arm needs to be calibrated and set up correctly. The correct usage procedure must be followed or the offsets get messed up, as you have discovered

Parameters that set the reference values from arm sensors to zero return position are 5015 to 5018 (X+, X-, Z+, Z-)
These numbers are valid for 16/18/21 series Fanuc control. You don't say what control you have......
