    Dear Experts

Subject spindle motor has a provision for through spindle coolant and whenever there is breakage in the nozzle at front side of motor shaft, coolant seeps into the motor and damages

    This motor has IP40

Please let us know if it is possible to accommodate better IP to minimize coolant entry and thereby damage to motor

    Regards

Looks like you have to do a better job at sealing the front of the motor.

Straight from the ai Series Spindle Motor Descriptions Manual

3.) As the seal for the shaft end is a simple labyrinth type, take care so that the flange surface may not be splashed directly with lubricating oil. _ (Or coolant in your case.)

    FWIW
When Fanuc uses this thru hole motor on the Robodrill. They utilize the internal threads on the output side. They use a "nozzle" that screws into the motor and is long enough to go completely through the flex coupling and into the spindle itself. Any elastomeric seal member is quite a distance away from the motor this way.
