    PCNC 1100 Spindle bolts

A question for Keen, or anyone else who might know.

I plan to copy the gang tooling mounting plate Keen showed in his RapidTurn videos, and I would like to know the bolt circle dimensions of the spindle mounting bolts (M8's) that he used to attach the forward end of the plate.

    Thanks
    Terry

That's exactly what I need! Thank you very much. If that came from the manual, I missed it somehow.

Hi Terry. Sorry I have been off grid a bit recently.

I hope I have caught you in time. On my older Tormach the mounting bolt positions are not exactly aligned to the machines X/Y I nearly missed it ... it was enough out to be a problem. It may not be like this on all models.

Please keep us posted on your build.

No worries Keen, I hadn't begun yet, too may irons in the fire. LoL

I'll be sure to check before I cut any metal,my machine is a series II, so it might have the same issue. The Tormach tool holder assy. is still on the spindle, so the bolts are obscured right now.

I'm looking for the similar drawing for a 770 but don't find it on the Tormach site. Any suggestions?

Guys you put me in a dilemma ...I haven't decided if making a mk2 version for sale or plans kit is viable. But feel I have to tell you one key change is needed over my mk1.

The main base plate needs to be 50mm or 2" wider to the left, to give better rear clearance between the column and the rapidturn motor - if you want to do close up short part collet work.

Keep this top secret....LOL. Damn conscience. Cheers Keen

Thanks Keen, I think you mean the plate you made to attach to the spindle nose and to the rear of the head, not the plate that the RapidTurn is mounted on, correct?

    Re: PCNC 1100 Spindle bolts

Hi Terry - Yes...Its making that that gang plate wider sideways toward the Rapidturn so the mill column clears the Rapidturn motor when doing collet work. I will have to weld 50 - 60 mm strip on and machine it back on mk2.

That makes sense, I orient mine more to that side when I cut it.

    Thanks
