    moshidraw questions

I have a k40 laser engraver with moshidraw and I have some questions about moshidraw.
1 How do I change the speed of lasering?
2 How do I set the depth of engraving?
3 On the final output screen there's a output class box. What is this for?

If there was some decent English instructions for the software it would make things so much easier but the sellers of this machine have been as useful as a helicopter ejection seat.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks Dom

The speed of the engraving is changed after you select 'output selection'. This will take you to a new page. The speed for engraving is listed on the right hand side and is called "CARVE". Of course, a lower number decreases the speed and the higher the number the faster.
The depth of the engraving is set by changing the power output via the control panel on the machine. If you are engraving at a slow speed, the more power you dial in from the front panel, the deeper the cut.
Maybe someone else can help with the 'output class' as I have no idea. On my machine, it is set at 3.
I hope thisis some help. Any more questions, just ask.
    Got it!!
    3.1.3 Class III Lasers
Class III lasers and laser systems (medium power) produce radiation that can cause eye damage when viewed directly, or when a specular reflection is viewed. A diffuse reflection is usually not a hazard.

ALL engraving lasers are class IV lasers.
    This is basic in safety.

Sorry for the misinformation. My laser (cheap Chinese) says 'class 3' when I bring it up. But t makes sense as a class 4 laser is capable of burning skin.

I believe that you are going to be looking for hours more, Moshi will only let you rotate text. All rotations and so on must be done in the program that you are using for drawing the file. At least, I do not think it can be done in Moshi.

Have you downloaded the new version of Moshidraw? It is 2012.9. If you need a link, just let me know. I have not tried to cut fabric, but I would find out what kind of chemicals or toxins (if any) may be given off when burning polyester. You should be able to get this information on the internet.

I have been working with it for about 2 months now. It went bad last week. It will not allow me to make a square. Maybe you can get some 'hands-on' time with it and solve some of the problems.

    Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have a HIGH PRECISE CO2 LASER ENGRAVING CUTTING MACHINE ENGRAVER.
the laser keeps jolting to the left halfway through a job.
Is it a software issue, or is it due to the laser belt needing to be tighten

    Hi,

I wonder if someone could help me, I ordered
A 40W laser bulb from eBay. I fitted the bulb and the laser machine has been cutting perfectly.

I used the machine a week later and now the laser struggles to cut, I have to turn the laser control to full power to cut paper now.

Check your beam alignment very closely. Then check to make sure that the mirrors and focus lens are as clean as can be. I check my alignment everytime I find something is happening that I feel is not right.

    hi there
first you should never turn the power to 100% max 85%.
thats a sure sign that the beam adjustment is not alligned .
start with the first mirror make sure the beam spot is dead center on all the mirrors #1, #2 , #3 .
PICTURE OF YOUR MACHINE WOULD HELP.
IF YOU NEED MORE HELP SEND ME A EMAIL DIRECT TO [email protected]
