    Blue Elephant 1325

    Hi All,

I went to see a very basic model of the blue elephant 1325 8x4 , no vacuum pump, manual lubrication, 3KW spindle.

I was surprised to see that the motor shaft was not directly connected to the ball screw on z axis or the pinion for the x axis. I am not sure about the Y axis.

I am use to using machines where the motor shaft transmits its power to the motion mechanism without a belt.

I am more concerned about belt slippage/stretch although I acknowledge the previous owner was make some detailed carvings with this machine.

What are your opinions on this?

Should I buyer and older non-chinese machine or newer chinese machine if there were roughly the same price.

    TIA
