Second on using rubber mat. Very easy and cheap. Wire bent like a U over the mill head to cover the Z axis. A second wire wrapped under the table hooks to the same piece of rubber to keep it over...
I had a similar problem where the size was off as well on my SX3 because I did not have the correct setting on the steps in Mach3. This video by Hoss was the solution to my problem.

Greetings all,
Have the cncfusion kit with Thompson 5 TPI ballscrews and a counter weight system for the head installed. Purchased Mach3, and learning that now.
Learning the concepts of tuning...
Doh,
Just figured out what you're moving and its not the Z axis. Apologies.
Curious why doing the quill instead of the entire head? My mill before installing the motor was a pain to raise the...
I have an SX3, cncfusion kit, and a 906 oz motor at 48v on the Z from cncrouterparts, driven by a G540.
If I've understood other threads, its de-rated to just over 500oz. No gas strut or counter...
Matt,
If you have it set up, would you mind posting your Mach3 XML file? I've test run the one from cnc router parts and it works fine, but its still not an SX3 version with a 906 z axis stepper. ...
Question about your limit switches Matt,
I thought the switch would only work if moved to one side, then spring back to its nc position. Does this switch work in three positions? By this I mean,...
In the same position as you are,
My E-stop will be through the G540 controller.
As far as a mill speed control, learned about these from another post somewhere on here:CNC Spindle Control...
Thanks for the input Tom.
Does anyone have a drawing or pin configuration showing how to wire a G540 to the KFLOP?
First time CNC build project for me. Found this thread with pretty much the same question about stepper noise while powered up, and at idle.
I just got to the point on my control box build to...
I ordered a catalog, and yep, 5% off my next order. and nope, not willing to share, so order up one. Each code is stamped on the back cover, not a part of the catalog printing.
BTW, the catalog...
Has anyone published plans to make the 2006 out of plywood instead of MDF?
I have a friend with a water jet table, MDF doesn't play well with water, so I was thinking about using regular premium...
Hi all,
New to CNC and the controls. In the collecting parts phase to CNC my mill. I have not bought Mach, looking at options, KFLOP sounds interesting.
I already have a G540 with the parallel...

I don't own a mill or a 3d printer, so you are miles ahead of me,
Never seen a 3d printer turned into a mill. Not sure that a 3d printer can push a tool into/through materials. Mills are allot...
Glad they helped,
I just took the plunge and bought 2013.
Tom needs to upgrade from the "Cubify" version, I need some lessons on assemblies.
Ask a question for an answer?
I intend to step up and buy the new version of PE 2012. So far finding prices at 189.00 through authorized re-sellers. No prices found on their web page(?). Did you...
Not owning a machine and with zero milling experience,
I stumbled across a blog by Tom Meeks. His lessons on a program called Cubify Invent sold me on Alebre. Cubify Invent (free trial 7-30 days...
And here I thought the other stuff was wrong.
I like Cubify Invent, its a stripped down version of Alibre: Cubify Invent | Easy 3D design software, meant for 3D printing

This is my first time actually understanding and learning...
You sound like we maybe on a similar track. I want one for building custom pieces for my 65 Chevelle wagon.
Greetings all,
Is anyone using a different brand or sourced rotary table/4th axis than what Tormach offers?
If so,
Where from, details on the control connections, any other general thoughts?
In a small space, I would at least cover the walls. The commercial kitchen areas I work around have either tile, epoxy painted cinder block, or a plastic covered wall board up over drywall.

If your looking for tutorials, believe Cubify Invent is a trimmed down version of PE. Tom Meeks tutorials got me started on the demo software for Invent. I'm now on the fence for buying PE 2012, or...
Any word on the 770 you were looking into or was this the 1100 with the dissolved paint?
Hope this helps as I had zero CAD CAM experience a month ago,
CAD, I stumbled across Cubify Invent. It has a free 14 or 30 day trial, I've loaded it both ways on two different PC's. A guy named...
If you don't want the 770, please pass along some info, I'd go for it if the location is right!
