My anti virus won't let me open that page.
Thanks. Will give both a look.
Anyone have any experience with a free code editor that will check code for syntax errors? I have been using G-Wizard Editor from CNC Cookbook, and it is outstanding. It checks and advises how to...
Hoss, glad to see you post, because I am lost.
I had been using your probing screen set, but had to change computers for my X2 setup. When I reinstalled Mach3, I still had all the zip files from...
Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks Photomankc
Yes, I have seen this and other videos. I have to look at my board as compared to the one in the video and figure out the common points since mine is not the same as the one shown. I do get an idea...
Got more info and hope someone can advise me. I went through the LMS troubleshooting PDF and performed the tests described. Let me again state that I am not much of an electrician.
I tested the...
Thanks for the reply. I will give it a try. I am exploring the possibility of a bad pot or even blow MOSFETS, whatever they are.
Well, today I put in a new fuse and the spindle started turning again. It turns very slowly when the speed dial pot is turned all the way off. I can feel and hear it click off when turned CCW all...
Thanks for taking the time to read and maybe help.
I was milling some 4140 steel with a woodruff cutter. F2 S 300, when right in the middle of the project the spindle stopped. It wasn't even...
This is the problem I see with a lot of the connectors out there. They are cheap, but you have to buy their special tools. Not so great a thing if you only want three or four connections.
Can anyone think of a reason these would not work?

I love this set up, but getting all the parts is like finding a needle in a haystack. There are zillions of different ones out there.
I have tried many different connector types to join the wires from my steppers to my drivers. I have tried aviator plugs, S Video plugs, Molex connectors, a even individual wire connectors. I want...
This may not be the proper place, but I expect it will be seen by more mini mill folks. I have tried and tried to build a reliable Z axis mount for my X2 using the Sterling plans, but I can't seem...
Thanks Hoss, as always, you had the answer!
Thanks for the demo Hoss. As always, you have the answers
Just wondering about a small lathe chuck shafted wit a 3/8 threaded rod mounted in a collet. Would this be adequate for holding round...
As one would expect, you don't get very far with machining until you need to do some turning. So far, I have not needed to invest in a lathe and am hoping to be able to do small stuff on my mill. ...
Maybe, but what if it has to make several circuits to get to depth?
I am new to this stuff and have been having a hell of a time figuring out what I am doing wrong. I hope someone can help me out, and maybe I can take another step towards actually knowing what I am...
ell, got my Wildhorse touch probe working, all except the LED. Ran a pull up resistor between the 5v and input pin and the digitize light is on in the diagnostics. Used autoset on the pin setup ad...
These are the kind of things you don't learn on YouTube!
Thanks Fastest
Thanks Fastest. I will check with some air cuts and take a look at the debounce. I may have to get some distance between my drivers and my power supply. It might be when the PS fan kicks on.
I have my machine up and running an been sending chips all over my shop. I now need to clean up, but where is the fun in that?
I am changing around some of the hardware and plates, just generally...
Will taking them off improve accuracy?
Adjusting everything on my CNC conversion. Do the Z axis manual and fine feed controls have to come off, or can they just be left on? Thanks
Hoss,
I have looked everywhere but can't find a pulley with a 7/8 bore. Were do you get yours?
Alax,
Thanks for the tip on the rectangles instead of standoffs. That is pretty simple and much more rigid. I may very well go that route. I am pretty happy with my Z axis, except for the...
Hoss, you are the man!
Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I have just completed my X2 HF mini mill conversion usingthe Sterling Steele plans and guidance from Hoss' web page. I spent over a year studying...
