    X2 manual controls

Adjusting everything on my CNC conversion. Do the Z axis manual and fine feed controls have to come off, or can they just be left on? Thanks

No they don't have to come off but they are just dead weight, not useable for manual control anymore after cncing the z axis.

Will taking them off improve accuracy?

Not in any appreciable way, just gets rid of clutter and less weight for the Z stepper to lift.

Once you can operate a machine by the press of a button, you will never desire to turn a hand wheel again!
A lazy man does it twice.
