"7) On the back side panel, we are going to be handling the 4 motor connections (which are now the molex connectors),"
I don't know. a back panel means you need access to it which means can't put...
Seems to me the table should of stopped moving as soon as the spindle stalled.
That type of safety protocol has been implemented for well over 30 yrs on CNC's.
Does Novakon not have this built...
It's been a while, but finally got my hands on an Advanced Motion Controls 100A40L. I'll see how that works once all hooked up. Paid $325 for it, looks brand new.
Anybody know if I'm going to need...
Same here, during T-storms, I shutdown. Not worth the broken tools and failed parts when the power goes off.
I have to agree with mactec. Proper coolant and mix ratio is a must. If one of my machines is down for longer than a couple weeks, I usually spray a light coat of oil, on most unpainted surfaces....
I kind of figured "Not for sale".
But if you made more then one, I bet you people would be interested.
Business potential?
Impressive.
Now how much for one?
There's a lot more to injection mold making then just the machining aspect of it. Your probably aware of the most apparent ones, but surface finish and textured patterns can be quite challenging,...
Misumi USA. They ship to Manitoba no problem, and there you can shop online and PayPal accepted.
I don't have to pretend anything.
What is the total area of contact of your superior belt?
Do you have a belt tensioner?
When your belt gets moisture on it, can it guarantee positive drive?
...
Have you tried the "Chain pieces of geometry into a closed boundary" strategy? It shouldn't be so complicated. What version are you using. In the help file they explain the different options.
Maybe...
I agree.
Here are some facts about different belt configurations which the US Energy department has provided.
"The majority of belt drives use V-belts, which use a trapezoidal cross section to...
Bob, my two cents, go with timing belt. The efficiency is just as good as v grooves. You will never notice the HP drawback unless you are into the 10K RPM range.
Why I would go with a timing belt?...
When creating a new curve, I think if I remember correctly, you can select top view and click on the geometry you are trying to capture.
There should be a option to auto extract all curves, and it...
Sometimes you are better off just creating curves by selecting vertical walls. Once the curve is created you close the loop(curve), then you can select the proper machining operation.
I don't have...
My old Tree also uses a timing belt. I had the mill apart a couple of month ago, and the belt was still like new. Also 5 hp.
Hey Michael, just thought being that your from Alberta, you can find Garr Tools at Essentra. End Mills, Face Mills & Accessories | Brand: Garr Tool
Not the cheapest.
Also try Acklands as they have...
You need to phone them.
A year and a half? You are one patient individual. Heck, even Larken isn't that slow. Even when he's swamped, he at least give's you a quick response.
First time I hear of...
Manitoba hydro.
Energy Charge: First 11,000 kWh @7.752¢/kWh
Next 8,500 kWh @*5.381¢/kWh
Balance of kWh @3.552¢/kWh
Ok, thanks for the help.
Hmmm, Ok. My kernel speed was set to 45KHz. How did that happen.
I will try the new settings at 25KHz. I run 1.2GHz Pentium III .
Hopefully that will speeds things up.
So for a 'Hobby' CNC the...
I agree about the extra cost of USB or Ethernet control, and not much gain. But try to do 3D profiling with parallel port interface and now you start to realize why it is the way of the dinosaur....
Azalin, Does the ESC maintain constant torque?
Along with what most are saying, the big turn off is parallel port communication.
That is a big turn off for me, as it is a limiting factor when upgrading your software or need for speed.
I...
Does anybody really look at the thumbs up or down before watching a video?
I know I don't.
I agree, the Facebook culture is too critical but yet at the same time, so irrelevant.
As for the IQ of...
Yes, the SuperPid control seems quite popular. It's feedback system of photo transistor is nothing new and is actually the way I would do it.
ModBus is witch craft for me as I don't understand the...
You have to be a little more specific. Are you trying to control the bridge independently? That can be tricky and quite costly if done wrong. International Rectifier has many 3 phase brushless motor...
Funny you mention GARR. In the first video I posted where the slow milling is taking place, it just so happens it's a GARR 1/16" 2 flute. I agree, they make some of the best cutters. A little...
This is more than acceptable.
As for the 30 Taper, well I have a bunch of tool holders of that size. I guess I was just getting my hopes up. But if no market for such, then I totally understand....
Well handlewanker, when you get your new machine, I'll definitely be watching for your progress with it. I hope you will document everything like Bob is doing. I subscribed to this thread and a...
