Ah no - long time binned. It was a pretty useless project:D
I owe Tormach an apology. They actually responded very rapidly to my email request.....but it went to an old email address that I don't use anymore, so I didn't see it for a couple of weeks.
No...
Appreciate your help on this TurboStep. My electrical/electronics knowledge is definitely in the limited category.
I've got a project machining some A2 steel that I need to get on with, and I'll be...
I emailed them a couple of days ago about my my electrical issue. No reply yet though.
Also asked them for a better quality PDF of the wiring diagram, the one in the online manual is unreadable if...
Yep, open circuit with no continuity between the test pin or either junction.
Did find a couple of millivolts there though.
Removed and isolated wire #204 & 207 from J5-1 and J5-2 on the controller board, everything fires up perfectly, and no tripping.
I still have the coolant pump working and delivering pressure just...
It comes straight off the 230V line via the main disconnect then line 207 and FU6. We don't use 110v here in the UK except via stepdown transformers where required - and obviously Tormach confirmed...
Though a process of disconnecting at various points and testing - then yes, up to that point nothing is producing a dead short to trip the mcb.
So it's either the board or something else connecting...
Just trying to troubleshoot a problem with my Series III.
When I switch on power to the secondary control circuit it trips out the MCB/breaker every time. Primary power circuit is fine.
After some...
I've had twin coolant nozzles set at constant Z height since I first installed my Mill. Made a distribution/splitter block bolted underneath the bellows, and 2 x 1/2" copper pipes running up either...
2.7.1 released now...
An albrecht sensitive drill might be perfect for that, though you feed these by hand via a knurled ring.
Small enough to get close, and a 20mm stroke on the sliding shaft.
...
Thinking about this, and maybe getting a spare to keep on hand, does anyone have a link for a direct stepper replacement for the Series III? And the Leadshine drives for that matter?
Obviously from...
???.....mine loves cutting steel! Though not necessarily with HSS form cutters
I've given up on using any endmill over 10mm or 3/8th apart from one insert cutter I use for the extended length - like you, I used to get pull out and chatter all the time with 1/2" endmills.
And...
I'm going to fire the PC up again this morning and try another new project and see what happens.
Also noticed another new tick box on the strategy tab, saying "Deep HPC" - any idea what this is,...
SprutCam users - I just applied some updates for Sprut 11.5 after a notification popped up on my screen - still on 11.5 but now on build 135378 from build 133something.
But now my tool library is...
I have actually managed to get it to boot now!
Obviously in changing out the battery I lost some Bios settings that stop it waking up when power is supplied. Pressing the button on the front of the...
For the second day in a row, my (just) 2yr old Tormach controller has refused to boot.
Yesterday I opened it up, re-seated the card, re-seated the ram, put a new battery in, and then it booted up....
Thank you for the replies.
I guess I'll have to buy the USB install stick for a backup. Which is a pain, as it'll end up costing me twice as much as the sticker price to get it delivered to the UK...
I've had PP about 2 yrs now, bought a new controller from Tormach with PP already installed on the hard drive.
But I'm wondering how to re-install PP from a backup onto a new PC if this controller...
Don't buy one.

Did that work...?
Good point - never tried that:) I've usually just gone back to a previous safe point between cuts, or the start of particular operation.
You need to clarify what you want? I've used 'set start line' more than a few times to run the program from a specific operation point, when I've either broken a tool, or need to adjust a cutting...
Scroll to the line you want, right click mouse, set start line - is this not in the latest version??
Well I've still got the free HSMExpress CAM embedded in my SW2014 CAD, but never used it yet as I'm still struggling on with Sprutcam.
Should I use it? Anyone here doing so? And does it even have a...
Are you using a dedicated holder for the holder? I've found that you need to do this.
Secondly.....make sure the tip of the Haimer is firmly screwed in. Mine was just a touch loose for a while, and...
I have a pair of 5" Gerardis on mine.
Opening is 5.25", but you can flip the fixed jaws around to the back giving almost 8".
And the moving jaw carriage (underneath the jaw) can be flipped around...
A couple of points - if you're going to run a moving 'O' ring or other seal in there, then the finish you'll produce from a drill, end mill, or reamer, will not be nearly smooth enough to avoid any...
I did a test run a few years with pre-hard stainless on th 1100. Used feeds and speeds from HSMAdvisor (which was a little scary to start with...), but ended up with quite an amazing performance!...
